Give your mother a call

Give Your Mother a Call is a sweet and emotional homage and gift to mothers everywhere.   This page is dedicated to Yvonne Ruszel and Miriam Schwartz: two mothers who have graced my life.  Though the imagery harkens back to an idyllic youth it is a reminder to cut through the digital noise that constantly surrounds us and remember the ones we love. It was written and performed in the old time brother duet style that is  most often associated with the Everly Brothers.  Andy plays guitar and sings the lead part and is accompanied by the incomparable harmony singing of Larry Statland.

These days it seems we hardly have time

To stop and smell the flowers

To thinks of the mothers who cared for us then

 In our happy childhood hours

But flowers fade and childhood days are quickly passed away

Is she sitting and waiting to hear your voice today

Waiting, waiting in her rocking chair and shawl

Oh so patiently waiting, Give your Mother a Call

I dreamed she held me once again

And my eyes filled with tears

For it's a long time over there

And such a short time over here

'cause flowers fade and all our days are quickly passed away

And if she's with the angels she's waiting to hear you pray

Waiting, waiting in her rocking chair and shawl

Oh so patiently waiting. Give Your Mother a Call

Give Your Mother a Call
